Analysis of Complex Fluids: Rheology

rheology image

We use an ARES Rheometer equipped with a 2K FRT transducer to study relaxation behaviour of polymers and other complex fluids. The Rheometer also provides a unique tool for the application of Large Amplitude Oscillatory Shear (LAOS).

Master curve of storage- and loss moduli (G' & G") of poly(styrene-b-isoprene) diblock copolymer. The different relaxation modes of the inner structures are indicated on the top of the figure. The most striking feature is the dynamic response in the non-terminal frequency range, which is associated with the relaxation modes of microphase separation structures in the material.
