Analysis of Complex Fluids: in situ Structural Probe: Shear Cell

setup

The study of dynamic aspects of the orientation behavior in complex fluids under shear flows is an active area of research. LAOS applied through a Rheometer and subsequent structural characterization through SAXS renders time-resolved investigation of the orientation kinetics rather difficult. In this work, we have developed an in-situ probe in collaboration with the group of Prof. Sol Gruner to investigate kinetic aspects of morphology evolution in a time-resolved experiment at the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS).
