  • Questions require familiarity with language from the class, homework and labs. All but one have a single correct answer.

• Review for the Final Exam will be Friday, May 12th from 7:30-9:00 pm in Bard 140.
• The Final Exam is scheduled (by University) for 12:00-2:30 on Tuesday May 16 in Warren Hall, Room B-45.
• Make-up Final Exam will be given in the Official First Make-up period
  -- which is next Tuesday - May 16th - from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
  The Make-Up Exam will be given in Room 203 Thurston Hall
  You must sign up to take the Make-Up Examination:

Class Roster

Projects

Each laboratory group will be further divided into teams of 4-5 students to research a topic related to the course. An example of such a project would be the evaluation of the current state of development of short wavelength lasers for next generation CDs. Topics for projects will be distributed in lab. Each group will give a 8-10 minute presentation of their work to other students in the same lab day (ie. all Monday groups) on the first or second day of study week.

Exams

• Prelim: Tuesday, March 30th. 7:30 pm. Covers material in lectures through March 14.
• Final: Tuesday, May 16th; 12:00-2:30 pm. Warren Hall; Room B45. Comprehensive: Covers all the material in the course.

Grading

Course will be more than 50% based on external work (not exams). The nominal breakdown among components of the class are:

• 35% - Homework
• 20% - Labatory Reports
• 20% - Prelim
• 25% - Final
