Computers The MS&E Undergrad Computing Facility features 9 Dell Precision 340 Workstations donated by Intel. The workstations are equipped with Microsoft Windows XP and a wide variety of software (see below). The facility also has a scanner and a Net-Print printer. The computing facility is located in rooms 249 and 258C. All students affiliated in MS&E as of June 2003 have ID card access to the lab. All juniors (Class of 2005) have been set up with computer accounts. To access your account, simply type in your Cornell NetID as the user name and newpass as the password (you will be prompted to change your password when logging on). If you would like card access to the room or a new account, please contact Steve Kriske (e-mail or phone 255-1663). In addition to access to the workstations, an account also allows you to save files on the lab server. This is done by saving to (NetID)$ on 'titus' (H:). Any files you attempt to save on the workstation's "Local Disk" will be lost upon logging off. Software Guide - A student-created guide to the computing facility, including an in-depth introduction to software available in the facility with information on what each program does and how to access it. |
