Prof. George Malliaras, Associate Professor. George received a BS in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1991 and a PhD from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands in 1995. His thesis was on photorefractivity in polymers. After postdocs at the University of Groningen and the IBM Almaden Research Center in CA, he joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell, where he carries out research on Organic Electronics. He is a recipient of the NSF Young Investigator Award, a DuPont Young Professor Grant, and a College of Engineering Excellence in Teaching Award. He likes to travel and to tend to his yard. |

Dr. Hon
Hang Fong, Postdoctoral Research Associate. Hon Hang
received his PhD in Physics from the Hong Kong Baptist University in 2004.
His graduate work was on charge transport and luminescence of organic
electronic materials. His current research focuses on a comprehensive
characterization of charge injection and transport in organic electronic
materials, used in light-emitting diodes, photovoltaic cells, and thin film
transistors. He is the recipient of a Croucher Foundation postdoctoral
fellowship. |

Dr. Aram Amassian, Postdoctoral Research Associate. Aram received his PhD in Engineering Physics from Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, Canada in 2005. His graduate work was on the in situ study and simulation of plasma-surface interactions and the role of ion bombardment on surfaces and interfaces. His current research focuses on the growth study of various organic semiconductor films by using in situ x-ray characterization at CHESS. Aram holds a NSERC postdoctoral fellowship from Canada. He enjoys cooking and traveling. |
